Internship Process Description

【Pre-Internship Preparation】

1.Internship Orientation Seminar

 ☆ A designated instructor will explain the objectives and structure of the internship course, allowing students to understand its design philosophy and learning goals.
(1)Eligibility:

Students must have completed at least two years of study at the university.
Students must have completed or be currently enrolled in the department’s “Professional Internship Project” course.

(2)Course Structure:

Students who complete at least 180 internship hours may earn 3 credits from either Internship Course A or B.

Students who complete at least 360 internship hours may earn 6 credits from both Internship Courses A and B.

The department’s professional internship courses are elective. The course titles, credit units, and required internship hours are listed in the table below.

  1. Internship Interest Survey
    Students select their preferred internship field based on personal interests and career goals. Three main sectors are offered:

    • Life Insurance

    • Banking and Securities & Futures

    • Leisure, Tourism, and Retail

  2. Internship Application
    Students must download and complete the "Off-Campus Internship Application Form" and the "Parental Consent Form" from the department website, attach the required documentation, and submit it for review.

  3. Pre-Departure Briefing
     The internship coordinator or partner company will explain the internship regulations, procedures, and other relevant information to ensure students understand and comply with expectations.

  4. Internship Review Process
    After submission, students must pass an eligibility review by the department. If necessary, an instructor may conduct a suitability interview with the student. Once approved, students will be matched with an appropriate internship opportunity. Upon acceptance by the company, the internship will be officially arranged.


【During the Internship】

 Students must comply with all rules and guidance of the internship organization. If the internship content or environment proves unsuitable, students must notify the internship advisor within one week to seek resolution. If the issue persists, and with departmental approval, students may formally terminate the internship. Unauthorized withdrawals or termination by the company will be considered as an incomplete internship.

 Students may contact the internship advisor for any issues, including work adaptation, communication, transportation, or accommodation concerns. Students should not act independently to resolve such matters.

 In the event of an emergency that prevents attendance, students must obtain prior approval from their supervisor and reschedule the missed hours.

Students must obtain at least one relevant professional license either before, during, or while taking the internship course. If needed, additional evaluations or project assessments may be conducted by the advisor or internship organization. Students must also maintain a weekly internship journal and submit a reflective report by the end of the internship.


【Post-Internship Requirements】

  1. Evaluation Criteria

    • By the Internship Organization (50% of total grade)
      A. Professionalism – 20%
      B. Job Performance – 20%
      C. Learning Attitude – 20%
      D. Adaptability – 20%
      E. Attendance – 20%

    • By the Internship Advisor (40% of total grade)
      A. Weekly Internship Journal and Site Visits – 50%
      B. Final Reflective Report – 50%

    • Student’s Concrete Outcome (10% of total grade)
      ▸ Obtaining relevant professional certification is preferred; project or other assessments may also apply.

  2. Submission Requirements
    ▸ Students must complete and submit all required documents in the Internship Handbook within 10 days after completing their internship. Late submissions may result in a failing grade.

  3. Final Presentation
    ▸ All students must participate in the annual Internship Results Presentation held in June. Students must prepare a professional presentation and share their experience during the event. Failure to attend will result in loss of internship credits.
